Michal Shein and Adam Levin first met at the New England Conservatory during their graduate studies. Their paths took them to pursue many projects and educational initiatives. They have since become leaders in the classical music world: performing innovative programs, growing their respective festivals, and mentoring the next generation of young musicians . Since becoming a duo in 2023, the collaboration has resulted in a fabulous exploration of repertoire and commissions. It has led them to record several new arrangements such as Vivaldi's Cello Sonatas, Schumann's Five Folk Pieces, and Jose Elizondo's "Danzas Latinoamericanas." In November 2024, they premiered a new arrangement of Grammy-nominated composer Andrea Casarrubios' "Mensajes del Agua." Future projects include the commission of a larger work by Andrea Casarubios as well as the exploration of repertoire by Sergio Assad, Mathias Duplessy, and Dusan Bogdanovic.
The 2024-2025 season has included performances at Paul Matisse's captivating Kalliroscope Gallery in Groton, MA, the McLean Center in Virginia, University of Rhode Island, The Music Mansion, The Hamilton House, among others.
The duo will be touring their current program to audiences in Mexico summer 2025.
